| | IGN: Aha Shake Heartbreak Review |
 | | By comparison, their second album, the just-released Aha Shake Heartbreak, sounds like a regression, the remnants of a year and a half of touring for a foursome who haven't yet come to terms with commercial success after years of struggle. |
 | | The end result is not entirely uncompelling- in fact, songs like the terrific "Soft" quickly and easily grow on you- but Aha Shake Heartbreak is shaggy and unpolished in the wrong ways, as if the disc was hurried towards release rather than given proper berth to fulfill the promise of its predecessor. |
 | | The Kings' sophomore effort isn't heartbreaking, but it's a disappointment; for their sake and mine, I hope they take time for a long weekend of strategizing, songwriting, and most of all, shaking off the effects of their recent success. |
