Ahmad al-Badawi was a very famous saint known in all Sufi teachings.
Ahmad al-Badawi drew near his Lord until he reached the door of the Divine Presence and said, "O my Lord, please open the door for me." He received no answer.

 Islam and science
Sayyid Ahmad Khan defended himself with a system of rules for theological exegesis which often seemed to subject the authority of the Qur’an to the authority of the empirical sciences, reducing the Qur’anic contribution in event of conflict to metaphor and analogy.
Sayyid Ahmad Khan may have been regarded my many as a collaborator with the British government, but this position he held in the confidence of many Europeans led to his greater understanding of the roles played by science in both Eastern and Western cultures, and also of how science and religion could be integrated.
Whereas ‘Abduh was not so knowledgeable about the West, Sayyid Ahmad Khan spent much of his life either in the West or with close European friends, so he possessed a much greater knowledge of both the content of the natural sciences and the issues raised by their claims.

 Sufism
In the 13th century Badawiyyah was founded in Egypt by Ahmad al-Badawi (1199-1276), who acquired a reputation for mysticism and the performance of miracles.
An important order that came out of this context is Tidjaniyyah, which was founded in the 1780s by Ahmad al-Tidjani (d.1815) and which rejected many popular Sufi practices such as the adoration of saints.
The execution (922) of al - Hallaj, who claimed mystical communion with God, is related to this second issue, and in later centuries some Sufis did indeed move to a theosophical monism (for example, Ibn Arabi, d.

 Sufism & Tasawuff
The great systems of philosophical mysticism elaborated by the philosophers al- Farabi RA and Ibn Sina RA gave a fresh impetus to and were exploited by this theosophic Sufism.
The early development and formulation of the Sufi ideal and its broader techniques had taken place at the hands of the individual Sufis who were centres of limited and close circles of disciples.
Later chains started going to Hazrath Ali RA, in most cases through Hasan al Basri RA The Naqshabandi order traced its genealogy to the first Caliph, Hazrath Abu Bakr RA, and the Suhrawardis traced their source of authority to the second Caliph, Hazrath Umar ibn al Khattab RA.
