Ahoghill (pronounced ah-HOCH-ill, where "ch" represents the guttural sound in "loch"; not pronounced "A Hog Hill") is a village in the district of Ballymena in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
In early documents, Ahoghill is referred to as "Magherahoghill", meaning "'the plain of the ford at the yew wood".
Ahoghill has recently seen a series of firebomb attacks on the homes of some of its Catholic residents, as loyalists seek to remove them from the area.

The head of the presbyterian church has met with the local priest for Ahoghill and pupils and staff of the school that was attacked to show his support and sympathy.
Ahoghill is within the Unionist hinterland, to which extremists would withdraw if sometime in the future the vote to unite the island went against them.

AHOGHILL, a parish, partly in the barony of LOWER ANTRIM, partly in that of KILCONWAY, partly in that of UPPER TOOME, but chiefly in the barony of LOWER TOOME, county of ANTRIM, and province of ULSTER, 4 miles (E.S.E.) from Portglenone; containing 14,920 inhabitants, of which number, 421 are in the village.
The district around this place appears, from the numerous remains of forts and the great number of tumuli and human bones found, to have been the scene of much early warfare.

 NIE begin £300k refurbishment in Ahoghill
NIE has started work on a major refurbishment programme to improve the existing electricity network in Ahoghill, Co Antrim at a cost of £300,000.
Ken McCracken, NIE Customer Relations Manager for the area, said the project was part of an ongoing improvement programme for the infrastructure network in the area.
Mr McCracken said the area in and around Ahoghill had been affected by bad weather in recent years as well as other incidents that have caused damage to the electricity network.

"The people of Ahoghill, who are 90 per cent-plus unionist, are part of Ballymena and the borough and nothing is going to take away their culture.

Northern Ireland's two main Protestant Churches combined in condemnation yesterday of the ongoing sectarian violence in Ahoghill and the Ballymena area.
As Church of Ireland Bishop of Connor Alan Harper was given a standing ovation for his message of solidarity during mass at several Catholic churches in the area, Presbyterian Moderator Harry Uprichard said he condemned "without reservation" any attacks in the name of religion.
Returning from holiday, Dr Uprichard said he had been "distressed and saddened" at the images being sent out from Ahoghill, where he had been in ministry for his entire career.
