AHOME was set up under the state's Urban Home Ownership Recovery Program (UHORP) with a goal to sell 40 "affordable" houses.
AHOME is slowing the pace at which it buys properties in order to comply with the requirements of a firm that provides it with construction financing.
AHOME hopes to apply in early 2007 to the N.J. Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency to take part in its Market Oriented Neighborhood Investment (MONI) program.

 Funeral of Hon. 'Ahome'e to be held in Tonga
The noble 'Ahome'e (35), who died suddenly from heart failure in the USA on February 9, will be flown from Los Angeles on February 21 arriving in Tonga on February 23.
The first night of the 'Apo is to be held for his family, and the second night for the kainga, and they are both to be held at his residence Matahiva at Hala Vaha'akolo, opposite the Royal Palace.
'Ahome'e was the Lord Master of the Royal Household at the Palace office in Nuku'alofa.

 Connolly Receives Affordable Housing Award - Fairfax County, Virginia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-23)
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Gerald E. Connolly has received the AHOME Preservation Award for his leadership, courage and innovation in preserving affordable housing in the Fairfax/Falls Church area.
Connolly was presented the award at a ceremony on Oct. 19 by AHOME, or Affordable Housing Opportunity Means Everyone, a nonprofit coalition of community businesses, developers, unions, resident organizations and other nonprofit public service groups interested in finding ways to meet community needs for affordable housing.
Connolly was recognized at the ceremony for his vision and determination to preserve affordable housing in Northern Virginia, and for creating and implementing the One Penny for Housing program, which has preserved nearly 600 affordable housing units in Fairfax County.

In addition, the County Board’s approval in January, 1999 of the Arna Valley Redevelopment Site Plan resulted in the County asking AHOME to provide additional outreach and workshops for residents of Arna Valley being displaced by redevelopment.
As a result of the County’s request, AHOME has conducted seven workshops that are outside of its current contract with the County.
Furthermore, AHOME staff was requested to take on a major portion of the planning responsibilities for the Annual Home Ownership Fair held on March 27, 1999 after the resignation of the County’s Home Ownership Program Coordinator in February, 1999.

The project is part of a larger, 40-unit affordable homeownership project sponsored by AHOME, and consists of the reconstruction and new construction of nine homes for low to moderate-income households throughout the area.
AHOME began work on the 40-unit program in 1996, and has since completed and sold 22 homes.
In addition to the $300,000 HOME Community Housing Development Organization Grant from DCA, AHOME also received $225,000 from the Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (HMFA), an affiliate of DCA.
