Aiden McGeady - Glasgow Celtic FC Player Profile from Carling Football
Youngster Aiden McGeady has been described by Martin O'Neill as a player with "enormous potential", having made his breakthrough into the first team towards the end of the 2003/04 season, aged 18.
Although born in Glasgow, McGeady has decided to play for the Republic of Ireland, and made his full debut in June 2004, where he came on as a substitute for nine minutes against Jamaica.
The 2004/05 season proved to be the making of young McGeady as he justified O'Neill's faith in him.

Mart: I can't drop Aiden - Evening Times   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-17)
McGeady's tricks and feints have been the most creative outlay for Celtic this season on the flank and O'Neill has no worries that the youngster needs to be protected against overuse at this stage.
McGeady emerged from the Parkhead youth ranks at the end of last season with a debut performance that was marked with a goal against Hearts, and though he remained in the first-team squad it was thought the arrival of Brazilian Juninho would push him down the Parkhead pecking order.
McGeady was unfazed by the might of AC Milan when Celtic held the Italians to a 0-0 draw a fortnight ago, and despite his inexperience, there is an aura of expectation when he collects the ball.

Who’s to blame in sorry tale of the one that got away? - [Sunday Herald]
McGeady, whose 18th birthday was on April 4, has very slim shoulders upon which to bear the weight of a controversy which, far from dying away, will only be inflamed the more he lives up to his billing.
McGeady, of course, still has time to change his mind, although Ireland are expected to the close the door on a U-turn by naming him in the squad for their next under-21 match, ironically, against Scotland.
Whether Aiden’s decision would have been the same had he faced an Alex Fer-guson, a Walter Smith or a Gordon Strachan across that desk at Hampden is one of the many intriguing aspects of this unfortunate case.

As I said in the piece Aiden has all the skills to be a superstar (bar blinding pace), but I am a little concerned that he is the same player who broke into the first team 2 years ago.
For the writer to point out the where Aiden has gone wrong/missing it appears to me anyway that he has some sort of adgenda against McGeady that is all to evident from sections of the home support.
