		Prime Minister Aigars Kalvitis said he and his coalition partners had decided the government had key tasks to perform, such as making sure the 2008 budget was passed and seeing through the finalisation of a border treaty with Russia.
		Kalvitis made the decision despite a protest by thousands of people on Thursday over the sacking of the anti-corruption chief and the loss of two cabinet ministers on Friday, one who resigned and one who was dismissed.
		Kalvitis told reporters he had not accepted the resignation as the border treaty with Russia still had to be finalised.
