He is very much like Qurratul Ain Haider and his appreciation of Qurratulain Haider’s Sita Haran is very refreshing.
In her work she has studied Sindh from this viewpoint and the way she marvels at the peculiar amalgam which Sindh offers in a milieu marked by an almost unbridgeable communal discord.
Qurratul Ain Haider’s Sita Haran is a beautiful and commendable effort to highlight this point.

Indeed, for much of their childhood, the Gay children were expected to immerse themselves in worship from Friday night until Sunday afternoon, making them the object of ridicule from schoolmates who considered their religion (and their father) peculiar.
By the time Terrell died of a brain tumor in March 1970 at age twenty-four, Gaye's marriage to Anna—despite the adoption of a son, Marvin Pentz Gaye III, in 1965—was disintegrating.
Their first hit single together, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (1967), was the first of nine songs to make the charts, including "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" and "Your Precious Love" (both in 1968).

 At the Copa
While several of Gaye's early hits, including "Ain't That Peculiar" and "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved by You)," are spotlighted, the set finds him breathing new life into other people's songs.
Recorded via an eight-track reel-to-reel tape recorder during two August nights at New York's Copacabana in 1966, "At the Copa" has been fine-tuned by Tom Moulton for 2005 ears.
Of course, it might have been if it had been released as planned in 1967, but these tracks never saw the light of day.

 odds and ends...
The tunes recorded by other Motown artists suffer most by comparison - "Ain't That Peculiar" and "I've Got To Use My Imagination" (hits for Marvin Gaye and Gladys Knight respectively) weren't made to be sung politely.
The lyrics aren't even laughably bad, they're just boring, and besides the title track the only catchy riffs are on "Termination." "Are You Happy" is another freakout that manages to be more boring than "In-A-Gadda" in less than half the time.
Bassist Lee Dorman is probably the best musician of the bunch: he's a nimble Jamerson disciple, and though he usually overplays, he occasionally slips in a nice run.
