She grew up in Waikiki at 'Ainahau, her ten acre estate, which was a gift from her godmother, Princess Ruth.
His will gave the 'Ainahau estate to the City of Honolulu as a park in perpetuity but with strict provisions for its upkeep etc. The will had an alternative in which it would go back to the family.
In the upper right hand corner of the stamp is 'Ainahau, her home on her estate in Waikiki in 1899.

On a 10-acre property in Waikiki that was once the home of Princess Ka'iulani and known as 'Ainahau, a local nonprofit group broke ground yesterday for its eighth — and largest — affordable rental housing project for seniors on O'ahu.
'Ainahau Vista will be a $20 million, nine-story project with 106 units on a lot bounded by Ala Wai Boulevard and Tusitala Street.
Author and historian Kristin Zambucka gave a brief history of the site at the groundbreaking, and was instrumental in having the name of the project changed from Tusitala to 'Ainahau, which translates to cool land.

Even the name of her Waikiki home, Ainahau, has a floral meaning: "hau tree land." The yellow-blossomed hau is a species of hibiscus brought to the Islands by the ancestors of Kaiulani’s mother, the bold Polynesian settlers who arrived centuries earlier in wooden-hulled voyaging canoes.
Kaiulani’s bookshelf at Ainahau included a biography of Queen Victoria and, perhaps, a copy of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, an appropriate Victorian-age read for a young princess living in a garden estate in Waikiki.
At Ainahau, Kaiulani met the famous Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, author of Treasure Island and A Child’s Garden of Verses.

With her sister, she led one of the three royal music clubs that held regular friendly competitions to outdo each other in song and poetry.
