		Originally designated the 60th Army Air Force Band in December 1943 it became the 560th Army band and was transferred to the 3rd Air Force.
		The band served in India under the commanding general, of the India-Burma theater, from May 21, 1945, until it was deactivated from active service on March 15, 1946.
		With a minimum authorized strength of one warrant officer and three enlisted men, the 560th AF Band was extended federal recognition and activated in the Washington Air National Guard at Fort George Wright, Spokane, Washington, on April 18, 1948.

		The band was created in 1951 as the 543rd Air Force Band (WAF) and, over its ten year history as the US WAF Band, was made up of 235 members, with about 50 women musicians comprising the band at any given time.

	Army Air Corps Band
		The Band of the Army Air Corps, based at the School of Army Aviation in Middle Wallop, was formed during 1993 from a nucleus of the former Royal Artillery Alanbrooke Band and volunteers from other Corps and Regiments.
		An inauguration concert was held to celebrate the formation of the Band on the 18th January 1994.
		Its next official engagement was held on the 10th May 1994 when their Colonel-in-Chief the Prince of Wales presented the Army Air Corps with its new Guidon, and this was to be the first time that the newly formed band had paraded at its full-established strength.
