Originally designated the 60th Army Air Force Band in December 1943 it became the 560th Army band and was transferred to the 3rd Air Force.
The band served in India under the commanding general, of the India-Burma theater, from May 21, 1945, until it was deactivated from active service on March 15, 1946.
With a minimum authorized strength of one warrant officer and three enlisted men, the 560th AF Band was extended federal recognition and activated in the Washington Air National Guard at Fort George Wright, Spokane, Washington, on April 18, 1948.

This 40 member band is attached to the 141st Air Refueling Wing of the Washington Air National Guard, under the command of Captain Jim Phillips.
The Band of the Northwest rehearses and records in a state of the art facility which was built in 2001 with design input from musicians, sound technicians, and acousticians.
The versatility of this band lies in the ability of the 40 members to act as ten separate performing groups, including everything from the more formal concert and ceremonial bands to a cooking jazz combo, a swinging big band, a hot dixieland group, a rock band covering current hits, and a variety of chamber ensembles.

Air is a French duo, consisting of Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel.

The six-member band, along with four crewmembers, deployed May 2 and spent about two weeks in Southwest Asia performing for not only Airmen, but sailors, Marines, soldiers and civilians, all supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Now, because band members are being deployed as part of an AEF, they are able to travel on military aircraft with the same priority and can get around the area of responsibility much easier.
At another base, the band's performance was the first outdoor entertainment for people in the current AEF cycle, and the first outdoor entertainment at that base since February, Sergeant O'Conner said.

The band was created in 1951 as the 543rd Air Force Band (WAF) and, over its ten year history as the US WAF Band, was made up of 235 members, with about 50 women musicians comprising the band at any given time.
For ten glorious years The WAF Band performed in countless parades and concerts for the pleasure of thousands of music lovers who had the opportunity to hear the all-woman band.
During the past ten years of renewed band activity, archives of the band's history were created by Dixie Johnson, then President of The WAF Band, those materials now are available for researchers interested in women's military/band history.

 Army Air Corps Band
The Band of the Army Air Corps, based at the School of Army Aviation in Middle Wallop, was formed during 1993 from a nucleus of the former Royal Artillery Alanbrooke Band and volunteers from other Corps and Regiments.
An inauguration concert was held to celebrate the formation of the Band on the 18th January 1994.
Its next official engagement was held on the 10th May 1994 when their Colonel-in-Chief the Prince of Wales presented the Army Air Corps with its new Guidon, and this was to be the first time that the newly formed band had paraded at its full-established strength.

The United States Air Force Band of Flight made their inaugural appearance at the Cleveland Masonic and Performance Arts Center with a Friday, February 28th, concert.

It was only logical that this young artist gets involved with our favourite French band and ends up designing one of their highly acclaimed websites...
