The Department will mail a letter to the applicant acknowledging the receipt of the Request for Coverage and fee and that the source is now covered by the specifically requested Air Quality Permit to Construct.

The Air Operations Section, or "Air Attack" as it was known then, began in 1957 when the first pilot, Roland J. Barton, and a Bell 47 helicopter were acquired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
