With the Air Force having met its goal of downsizing personnel end strength to 360,000, the only sure reductions it now anticipates is in the officer corps, to correct the imbalance between officers and enlisted, according to the service’s top leaders.
Acting Secretary of the Air Force Pete Geren added that the Air Force still must correct the imbalance in the enlisted and officer corps by reducing the number of officers.
The service’s top enlisted man, meanwhile, speaking in a forum with many of the Air Force’s command master chief sergeants, said he is committed to the physical fitness test being part of airmen’s evaluations.
