  Encyclopedia: Aircrew Badge
The badge was similar in design to the Aviator Badge, however centered an enlisted crest between the two wings.
The badge, itself, was not altered however the change was made retroactive to the year 1947 requiring updates to military records upon request from the military service member.
The badge is a variation on the Naval Aviation Observer Badge with the letters AC centered on the badge’s front.

The government has recognized that skills associated with aircraft technicians, pilots, dispatchers, repairmen, parachute packers and air traffic controllers require a certain level of proficiency and if that proficiency is met, it is demonstrated though their certification.

Yes, the ACB was awarded to each AIT graduate in the 67 series MOS.
Since medics were aircraft crewmembers and logged CA and CS flight time, I would not be surprised that they also earned the badge.
On another note, anyone who earned the ACB should know that it has been renamed (I think it is now called Aircraft Members Badge?), and according to my 67T (Blackhawk) CE son (in Iraq), it is now awarded to flight clerks, etc...

The idea for the Combat Medical Fight Badge was first proposed by Bill Cunningham, medic, 82nd DUSTOFF, to the Army Chief of Staff in March 2001.
These bills call for the enacting the Combat Medevac Badge to be awarded to all of the crewmembers.

Beginning 1 April 1958, film badges were issued to all individuals upon their arrival at the EPG with instructions that the badge be worn at all times and turned in on recall, upon exit from any contaminated area, or upon departure from the EPG.

The Department of Defense announced the deaths of four DUSTOFF soldiers who were killed when their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed Jan. 8 near Fallujah, Iraq.
Their names will be added to the DUSTOFF memorial located at Fort Sam Houston's Medical Department Museum along with the names of three other 571st Medical Company crewmembers who died May 9th, 2003 when their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter crashed in the Tigris River near Baghdad.
