The Airstair is a door-within-a-door, and operates normally when the cargo door is closed.
The King Air Cargo and Airstair door is manufactured by Raytheon, and is the same door offered on new King Air planes by the factory.

As for the rear airstairs, I think it may be possible that they fold up into the cabin, just as with this airplane.
Norwegian carrier Braathens had the integral airstair on their 737-200's.It wasn't all that reliable,and when it failed,it couldn't be retracted or extended manually because of it's design.

The Aft Airstair is a different Mechanism compared to the Fwd one.Did Alaska have both Installed.
