AITI is organised into a Presidency, a National Governing Council and 12 regional sections.
AITI also replied to the call for "Expressions of interest to participate in the negotiations for the new convention for interpreters" issued by European Institutions (European Parliament, Commission and Court of Justice) and was the only Italian Association admitted to the negotiating table.
AITI was the first association in Europe to tackle the issue of quality assurance in translation and the application of the ISO 9000 standards.
AITI's mission is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of alcohol and other drug related issues among Indian tribes, organizations, and families through education, community, and organizational development.
AITI provides state-of-the-art training to tribes, government agencies, and community-based organizations on a wide range of personal and professional growth, cultural competency, and human resource development.
Training is performed by AITI staff and a cadre of consultants with demonstrated experience in providing culturally appropriate services to Native people.
Despite some difficulties with the language barrier and outdated computer technology, we were proud to complete an extensive curriculum and lay a foundation upon which the students could build.

The Emilia-Romagna Section of A.I.T.I. was founded in the early 80s and today has around 80 members, broken down as follows: ordinary members (experienced professional translators and/or interpreters) and trainee translators/interpreters (newly qualified translators and interpreters lacking documented experience).
