 akahata
Akahata revealed the reality of the war of aggression and called for an end to it.
Akahata of October 5, 1931, reported that the charge was "false" and that the "true cause" of the war was the fact that "Japanese imperialism was preparing the war to pillage (Chinese) territories."
Akahata reports the Iraq War as a "war of aggression" based on facts and exposes how dangerous it is to revise the Constitution and how regressive and unfair the consumption tax is. It seriously pursues the way to inform people of the truth.

Akahata on April 16 stated that the bills, especially the bill "on response to contingencies," are aimed at forcing the general public into cooperating with the government in wars.
The three bills are: the bill "on response to contingencies"; an amendment to the Self-Defense Forces Law; and an amendment to the Security Council of Japan Establishment Law.
To this end, the bill stipulates that war cooperation is an "obligatory effort" on the part of the public, and that their "freedoms and rights" be limited temporarily.

Combined circulation figures of the daily and Sunday editions of Akahata are used by the party as both a measure of its success and a perennial goal.

Referring to the Bush-Koizumi summit, JCP daily Akahata pointed out that the US president’s "axis of evil" threat has been criticised not only by China and Russia but by public opinion in the entire world, and even by the USA’s allies in Europe such as France and Germany.
The Akahata said this clearly showed what a dangerous role Japan is going to play when the US stands isolated because of the growing international criticism of the Bush administration.
Describing the Koizumi government as one that "is rapidly losing popular support," the paper said the Japanese prime minister’s offer of unconditional support for the Bush’s threat is tantamount to pledging to act as an outlawed partner of the US Bush administration.
