Mr Al Baker was instrumental in having the world's peak tourism body, the World Tourism and Travel Committee choose Doha as the host city for its 2004 Summit.

Qatar Airways’ CEO Akbar Al Baker will visit Colombo on January 13 to announce the increase in frequency.
Akbar will hold a reception to announce the raise in frequency and senior Sri Lankan civil aviation officials will be invited, a Qatar Airways’ spokeswoman said.
