Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh (अखिल भारतीय जनसंघ, All India Popular Union) is a Hindu nationalist political party in India.
The party claims to be the authentic Bharatiya Jan Sangh, which is the precursor of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
ABJS was founded by Balraj Madhok, a former general secretary of BJS who had been expelled from that party in 1973, after he left the Janata Party in 1979.

 An RSS action plan
The Sangh Parivar is worried about this divergence of opinion on major issues, which could perhaps cause a permanent rupture between the RSS and the BJP leaders in the Government.
However, Sangh Parivar insiders agree that it is not easy for the RSS top brass to effect a change of leadership in the Government with a single diktat.
According to a section of the Sangh Parivar, if the present struggle for supremacy turns into a war of attrition, in which no side can win, some RSS leaders might even think in terms of supporting non-BJP leaders, who are acceptable to them, for the top post.

The sources also admitted the “utter confusion” on economic issues and explained that part of the dilemma stemmed from the original philosophy of Jan Sangh founder and ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhayaya.

The Bharatiya Jana Sangh (abbreviated BJS, and often known simply as the Jan Sangh) existed from 1951 to 1980, whereupon it was succeeded by the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of India's largest political parties.
The BJS was ideologically close to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and derived most of its political activist base and candidates from the RSS ranks.
After the Janata Party's poor showing in the 1980 elections, the former Bharatiya Jan Sangh members left to form the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has been one of the three largest Indian political parties since 1989.
