The Akron Wingfoots are one of the oldest and most famous men's (A game played on a court by two opposing teams of 5 players; points are scored by throwing the basketball through an elevated horizontal hoop) basketball teams in the United States in the 20th Century.
The Wingfoots regained national power in the NIBL, which in 1960 was changed to the (additional info and facts about National Alliance of Basketball Leagues) National Alliance of Basketball Leagues (NABL).
The Wingfoots were perennial national contenders who played an NIBL schedule as well as NAIA and (additional info and facts about National Collegiate Athletic Association) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) teams.

Brown, a 5-9 point guard, played at The University of North Carolina after playing his high school basketball in New York.
A stellar player for the Tar Heels in the early 60's, Brown was considered too small to play in the NBA so he went to the NABL Akron Wingfoots, where he played for two years (1964-65).
During that time Brown was selected to the 1964 US Olympic team while leading the Wingfoots to the 1964 AAU National Championship.
