Good enough, the State government had since secured licence for the exploration of its marginal oilfields, which is another window for indigenous participation in coastal exploitation and marine transportation, thus the urgent need for the company to commence its operation.

UYO – Akwa Ibom House of Assembly has called on government to site a fire service station within the Ibaka beach market or its environs in Mbo Local Government Area.
This is to check the incessant fire outbreaks in the area, so as to save the inhabitants the huge losses of human and material resources often sustained after such mishaps.
The call which was contained in a resolution, further prayed the State government to direct the Mbo Local Government to effect a proper planning of the Ibaka fishing settlement, as most of the unfortunate incidents may have been caused by the rather too-closely built stalls and/or residential apartments, most of which have thatched roofs.
