For the sake of legitimacy, Ibn Tashfin requested the bay'ah (oath of allegiance) from the faqihs and religious leaders of Al-Andalus, which was duly pledged with the blessings of the Abbasid caliphate in Baghdad which conferred upon him the title of Amir al-Muslimin (Commander of the Muslims).
But before reviewing the Moravid era in Al-Andalus, and in order to understand better how they had influenced those events, it is important to trace the origin of this movement which was able to spread it's wings on large parts of the Iberian peninsula and north Africa.
But his courage in challenging the corrupt Moravid rulers, his unquestionable straight forwardness and unshakeable belief in what he was preaching had counter-balanced his objectionable aggressiveness among the masses.

Indeed, although Al Mursiyah resisted all the attempts that aimed at driving them away from their Islamic traditions, beliefs, and customs, they couldn’t withstand the legislated laws through which Muslims were prevented from showing any of their Islamic features.
Having found that the use of power couldn’t give any result, and having been claimed that Al Mursiyah were conspiring against the government through secret contacts with foreign groups, Al-Mursiyah yielded to the Spanish authorities’ laws which issued their exile from Spain in 1609 AD.

It is to be noticed that both the Muwashaha and the Zajal are similar; however the Al Muwashaha is purely Arabic save its epilogue which was in Spanish or Spanish vernacular.
This Spanish folk song with its epilogue and Al Zajal later on influenced not only Arabic Poetry but also the poetry that emerged in southern Europe at the end of the 5th Hijra century (11th century A.D.).
One example is the advice he sent to the king of Seville, Pedro and reported by the contemporary Spanish historian Luis de Ayala in his work on the history of the kings of Seville.

807 A rebellion in Toledo was quelled by Amrus Ibn Yusuf, the governor appointed by Caliph al Hakam.
Amrus employed a tactic we saw before at the expense of the German chieftain, Odoacer, and will see again (with a slight variation): "the great banquet ruse." In what seemed to be a magnanimous peace-making gesture, Amrus invited hundreds of his notable Toledan enemies.
The Moravids practiced Kharijite Islam, a legalistic puritanical form that emphasized egalitarian ways but rejected theological reasoning and sufi mysticism (see also entry for 1085 below).

Vincent J. Cornell's is a rich study of Moroccan Sufism through the fifteenth century, tracing the role of Sufi "saints" in Moroccan society from the time of the Tit 'n Fitr ribat under the Al Moravids through the institutional role of the Jazulite brotherhood under the S'adian dynasty.
It's not often that I admit to being unable to fully digest a book on a first reading, but this book could profitably be reread several times.
At the same time, the Sultans of Morocco variously regarded Sufi "saints" either as political allies lending spiritual authority to the regime or as political threats whose criticisms were given weight by large numbers of devoted followers.
