		Hasta 1837 perteneció al monasterio cisterciense femenino de Trasobares y también se sabe que albergaba una pequeña comunidad judía proveniente de Daroca, de donde huían en 1415.
		Situado al pie de la sierra de Algairén, el caserío se asienta junto a un cerro rocoso coronado por los restos del antiguo castillo-refugio, del que se conserva una torre llamada La Lisalta, obra del siglo XV, de planta cuadrada y rematada por un cuerpo con decoración mudéjar.
		Al exterior tiene una torre campanario es de planta cuadrada y remate octogonal; se trata de un curioso ejemplar de torre mudéjar por su construcción interior.
