Aljazeera's media spokesman, Jihad Ballut, dismissed Rumsfeld's remarks as "innuendo", adding that the channel considers such statements "to be potential safety risks to all journalists who put their lives on the line in pursuit of the truth".
Rejecting the statement, Aljazeera's spokesman said the channel remains committed "to the dictates of its code of professional ethics, and its constant endeavour to cover a story".
Last Thursday, an Arab National Congress delegation held a sit-in at Aljazeera's bureau in Baghdad to express solidarity with calls for the ban to be revoked.

Aljazeera TV chose to bring their dispute before the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) which was adopted by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) on August 26, 1999.
Aljazeera TV argued that it is one of the most recognizable Arabic name and brand in the Arab, European, African and American markets and that they have registered trademarks in a number of countries and in various International classes for goods and services.
Aljazeera Publishing also argued that the trademarks registered by Aljazeera TV consist only of a logo formed from a stylized Arabic-language script and that there is no registration of the _expression "Aljazeera" written in the English language.

Eyebrows were raised in August, when it was announced that the Arab-owned news network Aljazeera International would open a bureau in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Aljazeera managers said Zimbabwe provided “unique access to this part of Southern Africa.” The Qatar-based organization in fact is the only global news channel licensed to operate in Zimbabwe.

Out of all the journalism sites I visited, Aljazeera had the clearest, most concise, and practical code of ethics in place for its contributors.
