The series featured all of the original cast members from the 1992 feature, with the exception of Robin Williams, who played Genie in the movie (he was replaced by Dan Castellaneta).

While many series were removed from Toon Disney (where it’s aired for the past eight years) when the JETIX block was added, this series stayed, and still airs in its Princess Power Hour block, along with The Little Mermaid.

The biggest reason for this is because Robin Williams bailed from the project after “Aladdin” became a hit (due to contract violations, according to the trivia on IMDb).
Robin Williams returned to be Genie again in “Aladdin and the King of Thieves,” and it is this major aspect that makes the second sequel superior to the first.
Aladdin fans will enjoy these films, but it’s best to know when you rent or buy that they don’t really hold a candle to the original.

Sandcastle V.I. - Disney's Animated Classics - Animated Television Series
This variety series has since undergone many reincarnations and survives today as "The Wonderful World of Disney." Below are some highlights of Disney on television.
The earliest of these series were based on fantasy characters developed specifically for the respective series, such as the "Wuzzles," the "Gummi Bears," and the "Fluppy Dogs." Later series were based on established Disney characters, such as Scrooge McDuck, Winnie the Pooh, Chip and Dale, and Goofy.
In more recent years, the series have been extensions of Disney's recent "classic" features, such as "The Little Mermaid," "Aladdin," and "Tarzan." No less than 30 such animated series have been produced since 1985, and many of these are still aired on the Disney cable networks.

Aladdin was a hit, capturing the films' clever mix of fantastic adventure with some of the best characters, usually from cynical Iago, the ruthless Mozenrath and the wisecracking Genie.
