En route to Kanpur, besides the remains of the Alambagh Fort lie the remains of Sir Henry Havelock.
Until recently this dilapidated grave was left uncared for until Mark Havelock Allen (descendent of Havelock’s) read about the condition of the grave in a local newspaper in England.
His soldiers refused to leave is body behind and carried it with them to the Alambagh fort where they were to put up until reinforcements arrived to enable them for another attack on Lucknow.

LUCKNOW: A heated argument between some local residents of Alambagh and state general secretary of Samajwadi Party (SP) at a Biryani stall led to firing in air and a hot chase which ended close to the official residence of the chief minister where the SP leader darted to take refuge.
Reports said that SP state general secretary Mohit Gupta and his aide were at a Biryani stall in Alambagh when a heated argument, under influence of liquor, with some local youths at the stall ended up in exchange of blows.
In the meantime, the Alambagh police got a wind of the incident and alerted the Hazratganj police about the hot chase.

Quoting the source police said, Akhter was returning his Alambagh residence from WASA road.

And on June 22, another 45 tamra-patras were found in a drain in Alambagh.
Police claim that today’s tamra-patras were dumped in the drain by those who bought it in the scrap market, out of fear of being caught with them.

Unidentified miscreants slaughtered an industrialist and three of his women domestic helps while looting cash and gold ornaments said to be worth about Tk 4 crore from his residence at Alambagh in the city's New Jurain Tuesday night.
Police and family sources said Mohammed Alam, owner of Alam Super Market and some other business establishments at Alambagh, New Jurain and the three domestic helps, Rahima, Sakhina and Kamala, all aged around 30, were killed on the first floor of the house between 10:00pm to 12:00am.
A murder case was filed with Shyampur Police Station and the Detective Branch of Police is investigating the case.

The Lucknow police had recently released a tape of the telephone conversation between Tripathi and alleged criminal Atul Singh and his aide Manish Tiwari, lodged in the district jail, wherein the official was heard assuring that all possible help would be given to get Singh's transfer from Lucknow to Fatehgarh jail cancelled.
An FIR was lodged against him on May 31 at the Alambagh police station in Lucknow and the police subsequently carried out raids at several places to nab the absconding official.
