  Camden New Journal - BOOKS
Alan has worked with many big names and he is recognisable from his roles in such films as The Long Good Friday, An American Werewolf In London and numerous TV appearances.
Ford is one of those actors who people recognise in the street but are not quite sure where from and when he was chosen for Snatch, it was after an arduous selection process.
Alan’s book runs through a day in the life of Charlie Harwood, an actor who is living on the dole, the occasional cheque from re-runs and is still, as he approaches 50, searching for his big break.

 Movie-List - Reviews - Snatch
Then there is a renegade gangster boss (Alan Ford) who is obsessed with feeding dead people to a bunch of pigs, a New York big-shot (Dennis Farina) who is trying to find his courier (Benicio Del Toro) who is bringing him the diamonds, three bumbling pawnbrokers and a hitman with bullets for teeth (Vinnie Jones).
Each of the quirky gangsters have their moment in the sun and it is very delicious on how each one is solidified from that moment.
Other notable performances included actor Alan Ford as the delightfully evil old man gangster Brick Top, American Dennis Farina as angry New Yorker Cousin Avi, and last, but not least, Jason Statham as Turkish.

Although Alan Ford is very successful, (his credits include ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’, ‘An American Werewolf in London’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Law and Order’, ‘Snatch’ and stints with the National Theatre and the Royal Court) he is obviously au fait with the less glamourous aspects of his profession.
An actor’s life is not an easy one, nor a pretty one.
Alan Ford has an acute eye for human frailty and folly.

Knowing Me, Knowing You... with Alan Partridge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Alan was a spin-off character from the spoof radio show On The Hour (which later transferred to TV as The Day Today).
For example, the medical fashion parade by ‘Mrs Whippy Head’ is clearly a reference to Vivienne Westwood's infamous appearance on Wogan, and the child prodigy Simon Fisher's appearance in the radio series was seemingly inspired by James (now Lauren) Harries's appearance on the same show.
Alan went on to appear in two series of the sitcom I'm Alan Partridge, following Alan's life after his sacking from TV after punching the commissioning editor of BBC2 (David Schneider) on his Christmas special, shortly after his wife left him.

Although O'Toole has previously given his birthplace as Connemara, County Galway, he has himself suggested that this may not be accurate in the first volume of his memoirs, Loitering with Intent, saying that this was the "family version", and that he may have been born in either Kerry, Dublin, or, perhaps, Leeds, England.
He began getting work in the theatre, gaining recognition as a Shakespearean actor at the Bristol Old Vic and with the English Stage Company, before making his television debut in 1954 and a very minor film debut in 1959.
He is also one of a handful of actors to be nominated for playing the same role in two different films; he played King Henry II in both 1964's Becket and 1968's The Lion in Winter.

Guy Ritchie caused a stir-mistaken by some for a storm-with his first feature, "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels." Not wishing to tamper with a winning formula, he has returned to the scene of the crime, delivering a further batch of never quite credible Cockneys.
They have names like Bullet Tooth Tony (Vinnie Jones) and Brick Top (Alan Ford), and they converse in the artful patois that Ritchie continues to sell as echt.
The plot, this time, is more convoluted, involving a diamond theft and a series of boxing matches, none of which, naturally, go according to plan.
