Don Goodrick, Maud and Lorton’s son, explained to me that Tom and Lucy’s farm at Ngawaka was a 100 acre property situated just on the left as you go into Taihape.
At this time there was a gentleman from a well-known Taihape family who used to come and ask her parents if they minded him taking her to a particular dance in the district, and happily she was allowed to go.
When she was about four months old, it was realised she was in fact unable to see, but by the time she had reached two years, she had developed a little sight in one eye.

I think that the source of Alan's strength as a teacher and inspirer lies in his unique vision of what a garden can be.
This vision is based on two pillars: a clear understanding of the rhythms of nature in creating an environment in which plants can thrive, and of the role of the garden in human culture.
The enthusiasm, delicacy, and accuracy of Alan's presentation of the rhythms of nature are unforgettable.

K Foundation Burn a Million Quid - Chris Brook, ed.
With charming (and typical) indecisiveness they considered a number of different options as to how to go about burning a million pounds sterling: in an art gallery, in secret, before the press, behind the backs of the press, etc. etc.
Finally they collected the cash from their bank (apparently not the simplest of withdrawals to make), flew up to the island of Jura with Alan Goodrick (a roadie called Gimpo), and, early on August 23rd, 1994, burned £ 1,000,000.00 (more or less -- apparently not quite all of it really went up in flames).
Perhaps the only facet not sufficiently explained (though Alan Moore makes some mention of it) is what it means to withdraw currency from circulation in this manner.
