Mr Alan Huckle, Governor of Anguilla visited that country's Red Cross headquarters on Wednesday August 11 th, 2004.
Mr Huckle was given a tour of the headquarters' office and storage areas by President of the Red Cross, Ms Doreen James.
Mr Huckle indicated that while the have been national hurricane and oil spill plans since the late 1990s, there is still more that people can do in the event of an emergency.

Huckle, who succeeds former Governor Peter Johnstone, took up his appointment today Friday May 28 following his swearing in at the House of Assembly and inspection of a Guard of Honour.

Alan Turnbull went one better than the previous race to win in a time of 46:56, Andy Phillips won first male veteran over 40 and Phil Redden took the award for first male veteran over 50.
Alan Turnbull again won the race in a time of 1:22:07 with Keith Pritchard picking up the award for third place.
Alan Turbull was the clear overall winner with a total time of 2:38:09.

Huckle was spun round and did almost a lap in reverse before doing 100 Dave Thomas on oppo with a T-bone.
Into the DD and 38 Huckle traded blows with 13 Gilbert which unfortunately involved the latter catching the Yank in the drivers door, before Huckle killed the jag with a solid head on.

At a cocktail reception at the Anguilla Great House the Anguilla Tennis Academy (ATA) honoured some of the sponsors of the academy and the visiting coaches from the USA.

The David Sullivan Police Academy at SUNY Canton enlisted the help of legal aged volunteers to help cadets learn how to identify the signs of a person who has been drinking and determine if that person should be driving.
As the student drinkers joined voices in a spirited although slightly off-key rendition of Queen's classic "We Are the Champions," Livernois and Huckle signaled the end of the drinking portion of the SFST.
Each student was given a breathalyzer test to create a point of reference for their performance in the upcoming sobriety tests.
