1980 Formula One world champion Alan Jones will be comprehensively back on the international motor racing scene next year with involvement in not one but two projects, and one will see Jones back in the cockpit of a single seater.
Alan Henry's well written account of the rise and rise of the Prodrive boss, through his associations over the years with Subaru, Alfa, BMW, Porsche and Ferrari to name but a few is compelling reading culminating as it does with the BAR era and the dawn of the Tourist Trophy winning Aston Martin DB9.
Jones was asked to take this role and reckons the series has a good future.

Thanks to Crichton-Stuart, Williams was able to get backing from Saudia Airlines in 1978 and Head's Williams FW06 was raced by Alan Jones.
In 1981 Jones and his team mate Carlos Reutemann fell out over team orders and Reutemann emerged as the team leader although both men were so disenchanted by the end of the season that they quit F1 and Williams had to hire Keke Rosberg and Derek Daly.
In March 1986, Williams was paralyzed in a road accident near the Paul Ricard racing circuit.

Last year, the vintage Formula One cars made their debut at Long Beach--the first time in 20 years that Formula One cars had roared through downtown Long Beach--and were a hit with race goers.
