Alan has gained his expertise and knowledge through contact with the finest pipers and pipe makers, he has worked extensively for radio and television, and also for film, has been a guest performer on a number of recordings, has co-produced traditional music radio programmes, and has performed in hundreds of concerts and festivals.

I suspect that Jones and Howard are closely respresentative of the same thing in Aust society and its the ability of the bully to blossom and grow without their narcissism or megalomania being questioned or contained.
I don't think Jones deserves respect because he does not give it to others, but I do think that while Masters' project of having Jones's media power diminished is a very important one, I don't agree with it being achieved by undermining Jones partially because he's a 'pansy'.
Alan Jones' being a homosexual is not big news nor is it a scoop.

TALKBACK icons John Laws and Alan Jones have once again found themselves at the centre of a controversy over alleged non-disclosure of advertising arrangements.
The radio industry regulatory body the Australian Broadcasting Authority has pledged to investigate advertising arrangements between John Laws and Insurance Australia Group (formerly NRMA Insurance) which have Laws providing “live reads” on his 2UE radio program as well as other advertising or publicity services, such as interviews with IAG personnel.
Alan Jones is understood to own 20% of the station as part of his deal thrashed out with Macquarie Radio Network director John Singleton.

I don’t live in Sydney, and I don’t think that I’ve ever listened to Alan Jones’ radio programme, so each of the above three commentators is in a better position than I am to analyse the political system that revolves around Jones’ breakfast show.
Maybe it’s true, but it would surprise me if it was, if only on the basis that talkback radio (and tabloid journalism generally) is usually a bit wider in its appeal.

Macquarie Radio Network (MRN) made its debut on the Australian Stock Exchange today, with a closing price of $1.50, up from the initial offer of $1 per share.
