Alan Ruck (born 1 July 1956) played John Harriman, the somewhat hapless captain of the USS Enterprise-B in Star Trek: Generations.
Although he has worked steadily in Hollywood since the 1980s, Ruck is probably most recognizable for his role as the equally hapless Cameron Frye in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off and his role as Stuart Bondek in the TV sitcom Spin City.
Alan Ruck will be reprising his role as Captain John Harriman in the upcoming Star trek fan film "Star Trek: Of Gods and Men", slated for a December 2006 release.
