		Alangalang is one of the 43 municipalities in the Province of Leyte with a land area of 15,052 hectares populated with 41,245 people comprising of 54 barangays.
		Its quaint, picturesque environment, strategic location being situated at the hub center and warm and hospitable people are among of the town’s come-on.
		With a very low crime rate and the absence of armed conflicts, Alangalang is among the safest and peaceful municipality in the Province of Leyte and in the whole country.

		Leovegildo Marmita, INP member of the Alangalang Police Station, testified that when he arrived at the municipal building in the evening of September 8, 1984, he saw the body of Felino Bantanos.
