  ChrisW's Description of Albedo
is a "furry" comic (i.e., the main characters are anthropomorphic animals) written by Steve Gallacci.
Gallacci is a gearhead -- one of the editions of the comic, for example, contained an eight-page article (with several illustrations) describing the primary EDF armored fighting vehicle and it's many variants.
Overall, I think they (both the comic and the game) are well worth the cost for the background material alone.

RPGnet: Review of Albedo Platinum Catalyst:
The first Albedo RPG was published in 1988, though it didn't seem to catch on very intensely.
Albedo: Platinum Catalyst is a modern RPG, based on the comic, written by an experienced RPG designer.
Albedo is potentially a high-injury game, even a high-mortality game, so you need some backup characters to, well, get injured, or to play if your main character is spending a month in sickbay.

WittyWorld #1, 1987: Interview with Stan Sakai
The comic book industry has experienced a recent fl and white explosion with hundreds of new independent comic books, appearing specially for the direct sales market, a market that is basically specialty comic book stores.
Albedo consisted of anthropomorphic adventures (animals who act and dress like people) and was a serious departure from the typical superhero fare in most popular comic books.
In the second issue of Albedo, Gallacci, who had great design sense and also a serious commitment to animal adventures, featured Stan Sakai's striking artwork on the cover and a new character called "Usagi Yojimbo." We didn't know it at the time, but the rest is comics history.

Venus's bolometric albedo is approximately 60%, and its visual light albedo is even greater.
Until it was penetrated by probes, Venus' opaque cloud layer gave science fiction writers free rein in imagining the planet's surface, and they frequently imagined it to be Earth-like.
Venus was the home planet of the Mekon, arch-enemy of the 1950s comic book hero Dan Dare, and was the site of a second garden of Eden in C.

Among some of the story lines that have appeared in Albedo are Gallacci's own Erma Felna, EDF, a military sci-fi epic with political intrigue, and Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, which first appeared in the infamously rare Albedo #2.
Gallacci also worked on Fusion, a comic from Eclipse comics, as well as on the Albedo RPG, written by Craig Hilton and Paul Kidd, and based on the Erma Felna storyline from Albedo.

Not being a huge fan of anthropomorphics, I was attracted to Albedo because of its well developed setting, complex story line and, last but not least, Steve Gallacci's hard-science vision of the future of military technology.
For all its size, it is a conservative design since it is possible to infer from some Albedo sources that a VLCC is in fact capable of transporting an entire brigade of 5000 troops.
Back issues of the "Albedo" comic book can be ordered from Antarctic Press, while the RPG can probably be found at various on-line gaming catalogs.

 TRS2: Albedo One #29
During its 10-plus years of publication, the speculative fiction of anthology Albedo One has at times prompted just such appreciation in me. However, this most recent square-bound issue with full-colour cover is a particularly sound addition to its award-winning back-catalogue.
In the comical Classroom Dynamics by D. Harlan Wilson, Professor Beebody is not a big fan of killing his students (even those with 'mongoloid intellects'), but with Dean Dinglewigger favouring a minor killing spree over the Robin Williams approach to teaching, Beebody has little option but to up his murder rate.
Also on offer is sublime cover art by Matthew Hansel, a world affairs talk with Alan Dean Foster, a brief brush with history via Norman Spinrad, a letters column, reviews and amusing, philosophical comment in the form of the Severian sermon.
