 | | Purpose: The Charlottesville/Albemarle Commission on Children and Families, established in 1998, is a twenty-two member board comprised of citizens, local education and human service agency heads, representatives of local governments, the United Way, and the University of Virginia all dedicated to improving services to children and families. |
 | | Commission members provide planning and funding guidance to city and county leaders, raise awareness of the needs and conditions of local families, provide information on local planning efforts and services, and coordinate state and local funds dedicated to juvenile justice, foster care, and therapeutic services. |
