Goodrich and Hackett were so bitter after working with Capra that for many years they said they had made a point of never seeing "It's a Wonderful Life." But they later admitted that like millions of others, they had finally seen it - on television.

BBC - Comedy Guide - Albert And Victoria
The names Albert and Victoria give the clue: this series was set in the late 19th-century, when men were men, women knew their place and children were supposed to be seen but not heard.
It starred the venerable Alfred Marks as Albert Hackett, a man with nine children and a wife (Victoria) to support, espousing middle-class views as bold as his moustache and used to getting the last word.
There was real-life drama during the shooting of the second series when Barbara Murray (familiar to viewers of the 1965-69 ITV drama The Power Game), who had taken over the role of Victoria from Zena Walker, miscarried a baby.
