Albert III, Margrave of Brandenburg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Albert III (in German Albrecht Achilles), (9 November 1414 – 11 March 1486), Margrave of Brandenburg, given the cognomen Achilles because of his knightly qualities, was the third son of Frederick I of Brandenburg of Hohenzollern, elector of Brandenburg, later Burgrave of Nuremberg, and was born at Tangermunde.
In 1470 Albert, who had inherited Bayreuth on the death of his brother John in 1464, became Margrave of Brandenburg owing to the abdication of his remaining brother, the elector Frederick II.
Albert was a man of relentless energy and boundless ambition, who by reason of his physical and intellectual qualities was one of the most prominent princes of the 15th century.

Albert IV (born September 19, 1377 in Vienna; died September 14, 1404 in Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria)) was a duke of Austria.
Born as a son of Duke Albert III of Austria, he became the Duke of Austria from 1395 bis 1404, which then included roughly today's Lower Austria and most of Upper Austria, as the other Habsburg dominions were at that time ruled by his relatives of the Leopoldinian Line of the family.
Albert's rule was characterized by quarrels with that part of his family and with members of the Luxemburg dynasty, Wenceslaus and Sigismund.

HABSBURG - LoveToKnow Article on HABSBURG
Albert became count of Zurich and protector of the monastery of Sckingen, and obtained lands in the cantons of Unterwalden and Lucerne; his son Rudolph, having assisted Frederick of Hohenstaufen, afterwards the emperor Frederick II., against the emperor Otto IV., received the county of Aargau.
Alberts successor as German king was Henry of Luxemburg (the emperor Henry VII.), and this election may be said to initiate the long rivalry between the houses of Habsburg and Luxemburg.
Albert was also chosen and crowned German king in succession to Sigismund, thus beginning the long and uninterrupted connection of his family with the imperial throne, a connection which lasted until the dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire in 1806.

A History of Western Philosophy 2.17
Albert was born in Lauingen, in Bavaria, in 1206 and died in Cologne in 1280.
Albert remarks that the subject of a science can be understood in several ways: thus, God is the subject of metaphysics in the sense that knowledge of God is what is principally sought in that science; being is the subject of metaphysics in the sense of that whose properties and causes are sought.
Albert does not here say what constitutes certitude in the absolute sense, but we can get a glimmer by recalling the earlier passage where it is a function of our mode of access to an object as well as the perfection of the object.
