 Plan for worthy MacLaren tribute
The grave of Richard Gorton Barlow, Lancashire's great `stonewaller' who toured Australia three times, is marked with a detailed record of his career.
Albert Neilson Hornby, who led Lancashire to the championship in 1881 and 1897, lies under a similar tribute.
MacLaren's unprepossesing grave, at Warfield in Berkshire, might well have remained forgotten and untended until spotted by a local cricket enthusiast, Derek Hambling.
