Rust was raised to the rank of Brigadier General on 4 March 1862 and was transferred back to Arkansas and assigned to General Earl Van Dorn's Army of the West.
In April of 1863 Rust was once again transferred back to Arkansas and placed under General Sterling Price and later under General Thomas C. Hindman in Arkansas and General John Pemberton and Richard Taylor in Louisiana.

I didn’t work on Rust in the past few days but I have been thinking a lot about it, as David is being the first user of it, and submitted me a few reports of features currently missing, which I didn’t think of before, namely support for multiple constructors, and proper support for sub-classes.
As I said before, Rust is not yet to the same level of C++ bindings generation as my previous generator, but I’m still quite satisfied with what it’s coming to be because the code is way cleaner that the generator, and way more flexible.
What a virtual variable do in Rust, is wrapping getters and setters so that they are visible as a variable, with foo and foo= as Ruby function names (and at the same time leave the true name of the methods available for library compatibility).

Albert Pike was born in Boston, Massachusetts, December 29, 1809.
His fortune swept away by the war, General Rust moved from his former home at El Dorado, Arkansas, to a farm on the north side of the Arkansas River in the vicinity of Little Rock, where he died on April 4, 1870.
General Rust is buried in an unmarked grave within a few yards of the Confederate monument in Oakland Cemetery in Little Rock, however a memorial marker in his name is placed in the Confederate section of the adjacent Little Rock National Cemetery.

Rust’s command was assigned to various brigades and divisions during the first year and a half after it arrived in Virginia.
The Third Arkansas was the first Arkansas regiment to enlist for the duration, the First and Second Arkansas having initially enlisted for one year and later enlisting "for the war." Albert Rust, a prominent south Arkansas politician, was appointed colonel of the regiment.
On March 4, 1862, Colonel Rust was appointed a brigadier-general in the Provisional Army of the Confederate States.
