Wallenstein gave over his army to Tilly, and retired to Jicin, the capital of his duchy of Friedland.
Wallenstein was aware of the plans against him, but felt confident that when the army came to decide between him and the emperor the decision would be in his own favour.
Wallenstein was buried at Jicin, but in 1723 the remains were removed to Mnichovo Hradiste.

Wallenstein was made Duke of Friedland in 1625.
He was an effective and ruthless military commander, capable of organizing the supply of the army with food supplies from his own lands in Bohemia, and equally capable of letting it "live off the land" when he needed the locals terrorized.
Wallenstein was no Catholic crusader and hoped for a Germany that was obedient to the Emperor but also tolerant.

The war with the Netherlands was renewed in 1621 with Spinola taking the fortress of Breda in 1625.
The intervention of Christian IV of Denmark in the war worried some (Christian was one of Europe’s few monarchs who had no worries over his finances) but the victory of the Imperial general Albert of Wallenstein over the Danes at Dessau Bridge and again at Lutter, both in 1626, eliminated that threat.
There was hope in Madrid that the Netherlands might finally be reincorporated into the Empire, and after the defeat of Denmark the Protestants in Germany seemed crushed.

When, on 25 February 1634, Albert of Wallenstein, duke of Friedland, and his general Adam Erdman Trcka count of Lipa were murdered in Cheb, being suspected of high treason, Raphael was put in charge of the criminal process of both men, with the aim to justify the confiscation of their goods.
In 1637 he was named counsel in the royal appeals court of Prague "on the royal bench" and in 1640 he became vice-chamberlain of the cadastre of the noble countries in the Bohemian Kingdom.

Quoting the title of several reports about astronomical observations of the Venus Transit in earlier centuries, the 2nd Prize was won by a film made by Martin Lhotak and Robert Smolik (Prague, Czech Republik).
