Albertus distinguished the way to knowledge by revelation and faith from the way of philosophy and of science; the latter follows the authorities of the past according to their competence, but it also makes use of observation and proceeds by means of reason and intellect to the highest degrees of abstraction.
From 1254 to 1257 Albertus was provincial of “Teutonia,” the German province of the Dominicans.
Albertus must be regarded as unique in his time for having made accessible and available the Aristotelian knowledge of nature and for having enriched it by his own observations in all branches of the natural sciences.

Albertus Magnus follows the guidance of Maimonides the more willingly on this point, since the latter had succeeded in shaking the Aristotelian proofs of the eternity of the world, without departing, however, from the principles of Aristotelianism ("Moreh," ii.
Albertus' attitude toward Maimonides'; doctrine of prophecy was peculiar; he could scarcely avoid being powerfully influenced by Maimonides'; ingenious exposition of this problem.

 Albertus Magnus
Albertus Magnus, born under the name of Albert de Groot, was born in Larvington an der Donau, Swabia (now Germany) between the years of 1193 and 1206, although, this date as well as his date of death (presumably November 15th, 1280) is still being debated to this very day.
Albertus was self taught in natural science (of which he became the Patron Saint in 1941), and was regarded as an expert in logic, rhetoric, mathematics, ethics, and metaphysics.
However, Magnus' interpretations seem to resemble text from the original document, which was written in the ancient language of the Summerian people as opposed to the more fanciful interpretations of Lovecraft as he seems to have taken certain "Dramatic Liberties" in his translations.

or Albertus Magnus, as for the other scholars of his day, because the spiritual realm was part, in fact, was the key part, of their world system, they openly accepted the reality and efficacy of astrology and magic, as sciences that relied on spiritual connection and casuality.
Albertus' concerns were not with the existence of magic and astrology, but with their morality and the dubious uses to which they could potentially be put.
Albertus says of astrology, which explains the effects of the stars and planets on earthly affairs, that it provides a connection between natural philosophy, which treats of the material world and metaphysics, which treats of the Divine World.

 Waite, Biography of Albertus Magnus
Although it was midwinter Albertus had tables prepared in the garden of the convent; the earth was covered with snow, and the courtiers who accompanied William murmured at the imprudence and folly of the philosopher in exposing the prince to the severity of such weather.
As they sat down, however, the snow suddenly disappeared, and they felt not only the softness of spring, but the garden was filled with odoriferous flowers; the birds flew about as in summer, singing their most delightful notes, and the trees appeared in blossom.
Their surprise at this metamorphosis of nature was considerably heightened when, at the end of the repast, these wonders disappeared in a moment, and the cold wind began to blow with its accustomed rigour.
