		Albin Julius, creator of Moon Lay Hidden Beneath a Cloud, and also co-conspirator of Death in June, has his own vision of ancient historical warfare and antiquity through the musical voice of Der Blutharsch.
		The Track of the Hunted is his third release and follows the pattern void of song titles and minimal packaging in order for the listeners to draw their own conclusions free of any preconcieved ideas or planes of existence.

		Over the past couple of Der Blutharsch albums the prolific Albin Julius has been gradually reorienting the group from a military-industrial solo project to a fully fledged band.
		The greatest degree of change to be noted here is with the addition of bass and guitar to most compositions, and whilst a more sleezy rock’n’roll undercurrent might be evident on a number of tracks, nevertheless the basic core sound of a military-industrial framework remains solid to create rousing, anthemic and nostalgic atmospheres.
		Likewise with Albin having previously written the majority of the music on Death In June’s "Take Care and Control" and "Operation Hummingbird" albums, for this particular album he has borrowed from this period by reusing the song ‘Frost Flowers’ to great effect.

		It’s been two years since our favourite messengers of the Apocalypse Douglas P. and Albin Julius joined forces for the first time, and our impatience for the coming of the work which would have followed the masterpiece "Take Care and Control" of 1998 has grown boundlessly.

		What made that exhibition of Albin Julius and friends so special was the fact that the whole music was played entirely on acoustic instruments, with no samples or electronic devices.
		The tracklist digs into well-known classics as well as tracks that were never played live before, and there are even one or two traditionals and unreleased songs.
		Those who have always criticized Der Blutharsch for relying too much upon samples have now a chance to reconsider Albin and friends' skills and listen to an unexpected side of their music, while hardcore fans of bombastic orchestral tunes and Wagnerian keyboards might be slightly disappointed by this acoustic incarnation of their heroes.

		It was a fairly decent performance, but Albin seemed a little over-dramatic at times (not least when he angrily pushed a microphone stand into the audience) and although we were right at the front of the stage the volume wasn't half as deafening as when Der Blutharsch appeared at The Red Rose in March 2002.

		Word of warning though- it does feature Albin Julius of Der Blutharsch, who afaik are a bad influence on Death In June's Douglas P Nazi-wise (as if he needed any encouragement).
		The album was recorded one year prior to the funding of his first project, the brillant duo "The Moon lay hidden beneath a cloud" [goofy name, though] which was much better than "Der Blutharsch" and featured the marvelous vocals of Alzbeth.
		The Albin Julius thing kind of put me off, but if they're not Nazis, I may have to check 'em out...

		A dimostrare l'eclettica e ispirata vena compositiva di Albin e compagni, ecco che a un brano tanto intenso seguono prima un possibile riempipista come la trascinante n.3 e poi un inedito incubo dai toni sinuosi e sinistri quale è la geniale traccia 4.
		E splendida è ancora la n.9, il brano più in linea con gli standard del miglior neo-folk, e anche significativamente l'unico brano cantato in tedesco.
