Successive owners of Albury continued the harassment until the mid-19th Century when the banker Henry Drummond had a new parish church built for the villagers to replace the Saxon Church which was closed in 1841.
Albury Park extends to more than 150 acres and within it is all that is left of the old village of Albury: three or four houses and a church.
Albury Park is private property, with public access limited to the Old Church and the Mansion.

The Surrey Local History Council, is running a project to index entries relating to Surrey for a limited period.
Geographically, the project is covering all the areas that have ever been in Surrey, that is the historic county of Surrey, which includes a large area now in south-west London, plus those parts of the present county which were formerly in Middlesex and a small area formerly in Sussex.

In 1603 the 29-year-old Oughtred was ordained an Episcopal minister, a common and well-respected career option for an educated man. Applying to the church soon afterward, he gained an appointment as vicar of Shalford in 1604.
In 1610 Oughtred was pr omoted to a position as rector of Albury, near Guilford, Surrey, in which post he served at an annual salary of 100 pounds.
Despite the fame he would eventually acquire as a well-known mathematician, he remained dedicated to his flock and held his position as rector of Albury for nearly half a century, until his death in 1660.

Weston Wood, Albury (WWA) TQ05474831 was excavated between 1961 and 1968 under the direction of Miss Joan Harding on behalf of Surrey Archaeological Society (SyAS).
Whilst processing and recording the archive SyAS were informed that Miss Harding had buried some of the lithics in her garden in Epsom, Surrey.  These were discovered by the current owner when he was laying a patio.  He took them to the local museum, the curator recognized the site code and contacted the society.  
A third of the garden was excavated over a period of six weeks.  A series of test1 pits were dug in a further third of the garden with no artefacts found.  The re-excavation was given its own code of LLE05 (Linton’s Lane Epsom 2005) to differentiate the finds from the main body of artefacts.
