It also acknowledged that an essential constituent of the process of societal transformation involved a deep contemporary and forward-looking understanding and conviction concerning the future role of faith and church in the state and nation at the beginning of the 21st century.
The Commission should include in its remit evaluation of the faith schools debate and the contribution of faith to public education, with particular emphasis on the role and presentation of an exclusivist faith, such as Christianity, within a multi-faith environment.
A detailed critique and evaluation of theological and ecclesiological models is required with a view to producing options and practical implications to present to the Evangelical Alliance’s Council and constituency.
