		Van Eyck werd geboren in Driebergen als zoon van de dichter Pieter Nicolaas van Eyck.
		Daarnaast was Van Eyck van 1966 tot 1976 buitengewoon hoogleraar aan de Technische Universiteit van Delft, en zat hij van 1959 tot 1963 in de redactie van het tijdschrift Forum, samen met zijn leerling Herman Hertzberger.

		There was something of the cybernetic theory of the period in van Eyck’s sense of the playgrounds as self regulating organism, learning from their evolving contexts through feed back loops, through a process of, what he called, ‘in betweening’.
		Van Eyck’s playgrounds would appear to me to be, in their abstract outline, to be serving something of the same function but in a sculptural 3D form.
		The contrasting paving materials: van Eyck employed, tiles and clinker laid diagonally, suggest that sections of floor are invading the space from the adjoining properties.

		This summer the new wing of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam is staging an exhibition on the playgrounds by Aldo van Eyck.

		De Pastoor van Arskerk is ontworpen in de tijd dat Van Eyck net het veelgepubliceerde, maar nooit uitgevoerde plan voor een protestantse (!) kerk met de titel 'Wheels of Fortune' had gepresenteerd.
		De Van Arskerk maakt deels gebruik van dezelfde thema's, zoals het gebruik van cirkels in combinatie met rechthoeken en de opvatting dat een gebouw in zichzelf ook een kleine stad is. Zo heeft Van Eyck in de kerk bewust een 'straat' opgenomen om processies te houden, die niet meer in de stad plaatsvinden.

		Bij het begin van de laatste halfjaarlijkse ledenvergadering van de BNA in Nagele bleken twee vaste agendapunten geschrapt te zijn.
		Mijn idee is echter, dat de meerderheid van alle verenigingsleden het misschien wel met mij eens is dat je niet zomaar na meer dan 150 jaar een dergelijk agendapunt schrapt, vandaar dit ingezonden stuk.
		Op de dag van de genoemde vergadering in Nagele bleek ook nog Piet Blom plotseling te zijn overleden en zojuist ontvingen we het bericht dat Frank van Klingeren niet meer leeft.
