There's no danger in being the King of Ginger Ale, and people don't love you for who they think you are or what they think you did; they drink the ginger ale and they like it, so they like you too.
So, OK, I'm the king of ginger ale; I guess that makes you the queen of ginger ale." Harry couldn't help it, he had to laugh, but he was worried that Ron might be mad at the waiter, and he didn't want that.

Encyclopedia: India pale ale   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
India Pale Ale (IPA, also known as Strong Pale Ale or Imperial Pale Ale), is a distinct style of beer and is characterized as a sparkling pale ale with a high level of alcohol (5.5% to 6.3% by volume) and hops, thus having an increased bitterness (typically 35-48 on the IBU scale).
In the same period, brewers that wanted to export pale ale from England to Russia were facing the same problem of avoiding the rotting of the beer, thus they increased the hop and the alcoholic strength of the beer, obtaining the so called Imperial Pale ale.
Nowadays "bitter" and "pale ale" are often used with the same meaning, even if, to be precise, all the pale ales are bitter but the opposite is not always true: there are Bitter Ales that are not pale ales (pale ales are more heavily hopped).

The term real ale was coined in the early 1970's by CAMRA - the CAMpaign for Real Ale - as a way to distinguish the traditionally brewed ale it was promoting from the mass-produced beer which was gaining dominance in the market at the time.
Traditional British Beer (or real ale as it is now usually known) has been produced in the UK for many hundreds of years, and the style has been exported to many places outside the UK.
Real ale is a living beer; the basic ingredients are malt, hops, yeast, water and other natural ingredients.

Ale is traditionally bottled in a dark glass in order to prevent light from damaging the product and interfering with the yeast – but for Greene King, allowing consumers to see the rich amber colour of the beer is an important part of its brand strategy.

It is unlikely that a genuine Viking ale was brewed from pale malt: until the industrial revolution and commercial coal mining, malt was kilned over wood fires and was brown and often scorched and smoky in character, though the habit in Scandinavia of drying malt in saunas may have made it paler.
The drinking of ale was particularly important to several seasonal religious festivals, of which the Viking Scandinavians celebrated three: the first occurring after harvest, the second near midwinter, and the last at midsummer.
