Ulyanov and his comrades began preparing an assassination attempt on the life of Alexander III of Russia, but on March 1, 1887, they were arrested.

Born in Simbirsk, Russia, Lenin was the son of Ilya Nikolaevich Ulyanov (1831 - 1886), a Russian civil service official who worked for increased democracy and free universal education in Russia, and his liberal wife Maria Alexandrovna Blank (1835 - 1916).
In May of 1887 his eldest brother Alexander Ulyanov was hanged for participation in a plot threatening the life of Tsar Alexander III.

The Marxist Aleksandr Malinovsky (pseudonym Bogdanov, 1873-1928), a physician, developed a quasi-religious humanist version of Marxism which had working humanity (“the people”) acting as a theurgic (“god-building”) force, and the Communist party as a quintessential expression of that force.
The phenomenological principle of dealing with reality solely in terms of the subject at hand, without being compelled to link it to the world at large, led to interesting aesthetic and poetic concepts, specifically that of the “world as such” in Russian futurism.
