Aleksei Stanislavovich Yeliseyev (Russian: Алексей Станиславович Елисеев; born July 13, 1934 in Zhizdra) was a Soviet cosmonaut who flew on three missions in the Soyuz programme as a flight engineer: Soyuz 5, Soyuz 8, and Soyuz 10.
A graduate of the Bauman Higher Technical School in Moscow, Yeliseyev worked as an engineer in Sergey Korolev's design bureau before being selected for cosmonaut training.
Aleksei Yeliseyev was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union on two occassions (January 22 and October 22 of 1969).

The Soyuz 5 was a Soyuz spacecraft launched by the Soviet Union on January 15 1969 that docked with Soyuz 4 in orbit.
It was piloted by Commander Boris Volynov and carried flight engineers Aleksei Yeliseyev and Yevgeny Khrunov as crew to be transferred to the Soyuz 4 for reentry.
The flight conducted scientific, technical and medico-biological research, checking and testing of onboard systems and design elements of space craft, docking of piloted space craft and construction of an experimental space station, transfer of cosmonauts from one craft to another in orbit.

Soyuz 8 was part of a joint mission with Soyuz 6 and Soyuz 7 that saw three Soyuz spacecraft in orbit together at the same time, carrying seven cosmonauts.
The crew consisted of commander Vladimir Shatalov and flight-engineer Aleksei Yeliseyev, whose mission was to dock with Soyuz 7 and transfer crew, as the Soyuz 4 and 5 missions did.
This was the last time that the Soviet crewed Moon landing hardware was tested in orbit, and the failure seems to have been one of the final nails in the coffin of the programme.

Aleksei Arkhipovich Leonov (Cyrillic: Алексе́й Архи́пович Лео́нов; born May 30, 1934 in Listvyanka) is a retired Soviet/Russian cosmonaut who, on March 18, 1965 became the first person to walk in space.
Leonov was one of the 20 air force pilots selected as the first cosmonaut group in 1960.

Komarov's remains were interred in the wall at the Kremlin, but an incomplete search and clean-up of the crash site led to more of him being found and given a second burial.
The original intent of the mission was for Soyuz 2 to be launched the next day (24 April) with three cosmonauts (Yevgeni Khrunov, Aleksei Yeliseyev, and Valeri Bykovsky).
