Alexandra Rebecca Parks (born 26 July 1984, in Mount Hawke, Cornwall) is a British singer and songwriter.
Both Parks and Polydor were unhappy with their relationship and they parted company in February 2006, shortly before a packed-out and critically acclaimed gig at Shepherd's Bush Empire.
Parks is known to have received offers from independent labels, and is currently taking a break to consider her options.

On the 4th October 2003, Alex Parks was crowned the winner of the second series of the BBC's Fame Academy competition, when she won the largest percentage of the 4.5 million votes that were cast during the final Fame Academy showdown.
Alex was at a fairly low personal ebb when, without her knowledge, her father Stephen sent in a demo tape of Alex to the Fame Academy producers.
Alex is authentic, and whilst her music will cross a number of age ranges and walks of life, she will also be a role-model to similar young girls who will identify with her, and make a wider audience sit up and think.

I bought Alex's album and the first thing I noticed was that, even though it had some of Alex's original songs on it, it sounded too manufactured and recorded.
What I can't understand is how she has been beaten to the no 1 spot by a band that does nothing but cover versions, even the no 2 slot has been taken by a band that are using another cover.
Alex Parks is unique; whether it's singing her rendition of material previously performed by other artists, or whether it's performing her own works - she exudes individuality from every pore.
