Biography for: Stanhope Alexander Forbes Forbes was elected A.R.A. in 1892 and R.A. in 1910. Forbes was also one of the founder members of the New English Art Club in 1886, at the first exhibition of which in June 1888 JW showed A White Note (YMSM 44) and a recent etching of Brussels, although he never actually became a member.
