Alexander (or someone his age group) seemed to be at home with his parents for the 1820 census, but not with them in 1830, nor listed as head of household himself that year.

The Honorable Alexander Grant was one of the five members, of the Executive Council appointed in 1792, and as senior member of that branch of the Government, on the death of Governor Hunter; became temporary Governor of the Province under the name of President.
Grant, who was of the ancient and respectable family of Grant, of Glenmorristown, and who was born in the year 1784, had in his youth been first in the merchant service, and then in a man-of-war as midshipman.
Grant’s early training as midshipman in the naval service opened a door for him to promotion that he little expected when he came to America as an officer in the land forces.

Alexander Grant was born in rural Canada on April 16, 1874, and according to his daughter, remained a Canadian citizen throughout his life.
After graduating from Penn in 1900, Grant continued to dominate American distance running, as the national champion in the 1500 meter race from 1901 to1903, the 5000 meter event in 1903 and 1904, the 10000 meter event in 1902 as well as the 3000 meter steeplechase in 1900.
Having studied European history at Penn, Alexander Grant became a teacher, teaching at the Berkley School in New York, Detroit University, the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and then from 1914 on, at Episcopal Academy.

Grant was born in New Zealand in 1925, started dancing classes at 7, and eventually won an RAD scholarship to study in London - but because of the war, he was 21 before he was able to travel to England to continue his training at the Sadler's Wells School.
For several years in the 70s, Grant directed the Royal Ballet's educational group, Ballet for All, and in 1976 he left the company for a seven year stint as director of the National Ballet of Canada.

The $860,289 federal grant covers half of the total project cost of $1.72 million to acquire more than 2,600 acres of land for Cumberland Trail State Park.
The LWCF program was enacted by Congress in 1964 to provide conservation funds derived from receipts from oil and gas drilling on the Outer Continental Shelf.
